Be hygienic. Take a shower once a day, preferably in the morning because it can wake you up and your body might sweat in the night especially if it is a hot day or night. Only wash your hair every other day as this will make it easier for it to retain moisture and make it easier to manage. Also, find shampoos and conditioners that suit your hair, not just the nicest smelling one. For instance; no frizz, shine, smooth, manageable, thickener, straighter, moisture-enhancer, dandruff, are all just a few different types. Too much product can result in a really bad hair day!
NOTE: If you have brothers or sisters that take showers in the morning, and there is only 1 shower, take a shower before you go to bed. If it's hot don't sleep with the covers, just the sheets.
Love yourself! Enough with being someone who you're not. Do what you like, just with fashion. You know your flaws, and you should try to improve them!
Get a cute haircut. All different lengths you can get. If you decide to get a short haircut, make sure it will suit your face shape and still make you seem feminine. Make your hair look wispy or flip it out, or chunky with color. With long hair styles you want to have long hair and grown out bangs. Try a side swept layer look. Ask your hairstylist what would be suitable for you. Nothing difficult to maintain. If your hair is hard to manage, ask a stylist. We are all different!
Moisturizing your skin is very important, it has the purpose of keeping your skin soft . Also a good face wash to use every morning would be appropriate and possibly exfoliating if you already have blackheads and spots. If you are spotty then deal with it appropriately, also some foundation can cover it but try to get anti-bacterial foundation so you can cover and clean.
Wear clothes that make you feel pretty. You don't really want to use baggy pants and bold sweaters. Fitted clothes will make you look better.
Have at least one cute pair of shoes. Something to dress it all up. Whether it is a boot, a sandal, a wedge, you pick it! But make sure it is appropriate for school.
During teen years there are a lot of barriers (things that go wrong). Like braces, glasses, acne, overweight, underweight, flat chest, and what not. Read the following tips; but keep in mind, you don't have to be perfect and that perfection is personal.
Try a bit of light perfume. Don't put on something too overpowering, though. Nice smelling soap can give of a perfume scent too or even, deodorant!
Smile a lot. A smile is a great accessory! Which, means brushing your teeth to get that beautiful white smile. If you can't brush your teeth after every snack or meal chew on a piece of cleaning-gum, it'll make your breath smell nice and keep your teeth clean.
If you feel good and you look good, then that's good! Confidence is the most attractive thing, so be proud to be yourself and throw your shoulders back (not literally) and keep your chin high, your hair out of your face and a smile
You might want to try sleeping on your back or side, not on your stomach. You'll feel a lot better!
Wear colors that suit you! Blues/greens/browns to bring out your eyes, pinks to bring out your blush (if you have one). Make sure the colors stand out but go with your skin/hair etc. If you have red hair, wear green! Redheads look beautiful in green, try not to go for the lime/neon greens however, try to find hunter greens that make your hair stand out. If you have slightly yellowish skin be careful about oranges and yellows. Find what works for you and.. well, work it!
You can wear black, but don't over do it. Sometimes a black shirt, with blue jeans can make you look really skinny, or curvy. Black screams sophisticated and mature. It can also say I'm mysterious! Or it can be about your personality!
Be proud of yourself, and never criticize yourself. We were all made unique and special. Remember, every girl has her flaws, not just you.
If you have braces, don't freak. Lot's of people do, and they are in style now. Try to stay clear of getting more than two colors. Even two colors may look a little too harsh for your face. Maybe choose simple pastel colors, they look very pretty on braces. Also, stay away from yellow and neon blue! It will just make your teeth look yellow, and not white. But most importantly, just find things that make you happy.
Remind yourself everyday of the people that love you! Mom, Dad, your best friends, your pets, your teachers etc. It will boost up your confidence!
Listen to your heart and, of course, your common sense.
If someone tells you that you don't look nice. Maybe they are just saying that but always trust your personality. To be honest no one is perfect. Also don't care if you are overweight or underweight every girl is pretty the way they are. A boy out there will like you and think you are pretty whether you are aware of it or not.
Don't try to be someone you're not. You are YOU! If there is someone at school that you're jealous of ... think of reasons that you are equal to her. Just be yourself and don't try to be better, just be yourself!
