You’ve finally found the one girl that puts a smile on your face each time you see her in the halls. Maybe you’ve told her your feelings, or maybe you haven’t quite worked up the courage to talk to her. Regardless, prom season is the best excuse to talk to a girl and ask her to accompany you to your annual school dance.But, if you want to make a good impression, you can catch her attention with a chivalrous, but impactful display of your affection. Here are some creative ways to ask your sweetie to prom.
Balloons: Balloons can instantly put a smile on someone’s face, so do something creative with them. Fill her whole car with them, stuff a bunch in her locker, and if you’re really ambitious, get permission from her parents to put a ton in her room so when she comes home, she’ll be swimming in them. Write a little something on each one with a marker like, “Prom?” so she knows exactly what the gesture means. Get creative and go all out!
Beach: If you live by a lake or an ocean, writing something in the sand can be a thoughtful and romantic gesture. First, write “Will you go to prom with me?” in the sand and then get your girl to join you down by the beach. To top it off, present her with some of her favorite flowers. She’ll love the thoughtfulness. Make sure your girl is close by though, otherwise you risk having the water wash away all your creative work before she sees it!Foreign Language: Maybe she’s really into French, or loves her Spanish class. Show her you went the extra mile by taking the time to look up how to ask her to prom in her favorite foreign language. Write it down, and slip the note inside her locker, or better yet, put it in her foreign language book so she can be surprised during class.
Dessert: You’ll be sure to catch her attention with something sweet. If you two have lunch together, bring her a cupcake or a brownie that has “Prom?” written on it in a colorful frosting. Girls rarely pass up treats, especially when there’s something so personal written on them!
